The Gatsby Benchmarks are a framework of 8 guidelines about what makes the best careers provision in schools and colleges. The Careers Strategy is built around them, and they make a great place to start for planning or improving your programme.  As an activity provider, our work-related services and programmes help to meet some of the Benchmarks, in particular, Benchmark 3, 5 and 6.

Our work experience placements, both block and extended, as well as activities such as World of Work events  and Site Visits can support:

Benchmark 3 – Addressing the needs of each pupil by seeking to challenge stereotypical thinking and raise aspirations. https://www.careersandenterprise.co.uk/sites/default/files/gatsby_benchmark_3.pdf

Benchmark 5 – Encounters with Employers and Employees by offering multiple opportunities to learn from employers about work, employment and the skills that are valued in the workplace.  https://www.careersandenterprise.co.uk/sites/default/files/gatsby_benchmark_5.pdf

Benchmark 6 – Experience of the workplace by offering structured and quality assured first-hand experiences of the workplace through work visits, work shadowing and/or work experience to help their exploration of career opportunities.  https://www.careersandenterprise.co.uk/sites/default/files/gatsby_benchmark_6.pdf

All our activities and programmes can provide an auditable route with strong evidence to support the schools own records and information.   All activities are vetted in line with Health and Safety Procurement Standards (HASPS) providing a structured framework of support.
