‘As part of the Work Ready Lancashire Initiative, we worked with EBPNW to take 12 KS3 students on manufacturing based work place safari’s. The information about the day including employer contacts, itineraries and activities that EBPNW provided was extensive and very informative and they also accompanied us on the day. What is equalex?

The equalex framework, defines learning outcomes and objectives and allows educators to embed meaningful workplace experiences within a progressive whole school careers programme.

What’s the difference between work experience and the new modern work experience guarantee?

Traditional work experience is a placement undertaken taken by a student from year 10 onwards, which is usually in blocks of one week (5 days). This isn’t changing – but what the new modern work experience framework offers is a guarantee that every young person from key stage 3 to key stage 4 has access to high-quality, multiple workplace experiences, totalling 10 days’ worth throughout their secondary education.

What are some examples of how modern work experience could work at key stage 3?

Examples can include accompanied site tours and work place safari’s in manageable group sizes, employer led project work, world at work career events with employer input. Contact us to discuss how we can help.
